Vaucluse House
An awkward 80’s home, we turned two smaller living areas into one larger one, by expressing the newly engineered steel beams, and removing an old dis-used fireplace. We separated the spaces into a series of interconnected rooms, with deep reveals in limed white oak, so that it felt less meandering and made the rooms easier to furnish. The client had an impressive art collection including Andy Warhol and David Hockney, so we provided more wall space for these works to be displayed, and introduced natural materials such as the vintage leather Tuareg rug, and cane ottoman by Franco Albini to compliment the monochromatic colour scheme.
